What is the difference between Therapy, Counseling, and Coaching?
Therapy focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. Therapists use evidence-based techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or psychotherapy to address deep-seated emotional issues.
Counseling typically deals with helping individuals address specific problems or transitions in their lives, such as relationship issues, career changes, or grief. Counselors often provide guidance, support, and practical advice to help clients navigate these challenges and improve their well-being.
Coaching is future-oriented and goal-driven, focusing on personal and professional development. Coaches help clients clarify their goals, identify obstacles, and develop strategies to achieve success in areas such as career, relationships, health, or personal growth. Unlike therapy or counseling, coaching does not focus on diagnosing or treating mental health disorders.
